Jack and Dan are always at the ready to take care of my old car. They work with me to determine what is critical to address and what is not. I appreciate their input and honesty.

Great, fast service. Phone answered quickly ( how many businesses can say that?) Great cooperation with the natural desire not to spend my free time hanging out in an auto repair place and flexibility to limit it. Didn't magically find a bazillion dollars of repairs that needed to be done. My experience is these folks are straight up.

Good things: Staff is polite (or at least they were to me). They answer the phone. I was able to bring my car in next-day and had a call about my car within three hours. Bad things: I was told no new information about my car or what needed repaired. I was charged $135 for a diagnostic, which I was told would be free unless they had to take the car apart (they didn't). My brother-in-law picked up the car for me because of my work schedule and said it was an unpleasant experience. Quote was unreasonably high. Overall, I just feel insulted.

Overpriced, unhelpful and kind of shady—but polite! They are dishonest about their pricing. When I asked about a diagnostic, they said they didn’t charge unless they had to take things apart. They charged me $135 for a visual inspection and a code scan. (I actually gave them the code when I got there, so the code scan was unnecessary.) The guy ended up taking off a flex hose and putting it back on for no apparent reason—I guess just so they could charge me for 60 seconds of “taking things apart.” Bottom line: I paid $135 to learn nothing I didn’t already know. Also, the quote to fix my car was way too expensive: over $800. The labor takes about an hour and the part only costs $300. Why would anyone pay over $500 an hour for labor? I thought the staff here was polite. They kind of lecture you about how cars work, which gets annoying if you know anything about cars, but at least they know what they’re talking about. If you know nothing about cars and have a lot of money to spare, this place is probably great. Otherwise, I’d go elsewhere.

Fantastic service from Jack and the rest of the team. They managed to fix an electric fault with a tire sensor on my car that has been an issue for some time as well as repair my brakes. I felt they were very trustworthy and friendly, which is important for me when it comes to using a mechanic. Jack also took time to explain the issues and how they would fix them. Will definitely be using them again in the future. Thanks Jack and North Hollywood Auto Repair!

These guys are always top-notch, honest and on time. I drive out of my way to service my car with North Hollywood Auto. AAA recommended as well. Never a big push for unnecessary repairs. Wish the rest of the world operated the way they do.
